Bagless WiFi-Connected Robot Vacuum

This bagless wifi-connected robot has a utilitarian, all-black design. Its price is comparable to other top-of-the-line smart robotic vacuums for home use.

You can control it with the physical Clean and Dock buttons on the top of the screen, through the SharkClean app, or by using voice commands using Alexa and Google Assistant. It comes with a variety of smart features, including home mapping and virtual "no-go zones".

Matrix Clean

The most popular vacuum cleaner in America (based on NPD Group/Retail tracking Service data). Matrix Clean has incredible suction power and Matrix & Precision Mapping. It also features an automatic emptying bottom.

SharkClean is an app you can download to your smartphone to map out your rooms. The app lets you make an agenda to keep your home spotless or you can pick certain rooms to have Matrix begin cleaning automatically. You can also set 'no-go' zones like beds or closets that you don't want it to enter.

The app also lets you utilize the "spot" cleaning on demand feature. You can choose a dirty area on your floor map, and the robot will automatically move over that area with multiple swipes of its cleaning pad. It is able to clean everything from dog hair twigs and small pieces of paper that were left from a recent crafting project.

The Matrix will return to its dock after it has finished cleaning and empty itself into the bin provided. This is a neat feature because it reduces your need to perform maintenance.

One thing to note about this particular robot is that the LIDAR mapping sensor sits right on top, which might prevent it from getting under some of the lower furniture such as tables and sofas. However, if you're not worried about it being slightly taller than other robots, this is still an excellent choice. Also, keep in mind that this model doesn't come with a HEPA filter like the other models on this list.

This means your robot can be left to complete a schedule of cleaning or you can start Matrix cleaning on demand and set room-specific goals anywhere from the app.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is a solid mid-range robot vacuum that checks all the boxes. It's simple to use and creates precise home maps, and has bags that self-empty. It's also cheaper to operate than many other robot vacuums.

It also has plenty of power, picking up debris through its suction opening, and relying on its side brushes to push hair and carpet threads into the brushroll. This prevents the brushroll from becoming blocked and becoming messy, like other robotic vacuums. This makes the machine more efficient for picking up pet hair.

This robot has a powerful suction as well as a self-emptying base. It also has high-efficiency HEPA filtering system that traps 99 percent of allergens and dust mites. It also has two power modes that can be used to suit different kinds of floors, and a remote that allows users to access all its functions. Moreover, it's compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which allows you to initiate cleaning tasks without touching the robot.

While it's a good choice for most homes but some may be unable to navigate it. In contrast to other bump bots that are able to avoid stairs but this one was having trouble with them. It relied on LiDAR sensors and infrared sensors to map my home however, it kept mistakenly identifying the cat condo as stairs and asked me if I wanted to move it. It also had a shorter time to run than advertised, with only 180 minutes.

Self-Empty Base

Some robots, including this one has self emptying robot vacuum bagless-emptying bases. These bases are able to remove debris from the onboard dust bin to an external dirt bin. This makes maintenance easier. They're referred to as the Clean Base Dirt Disposal by iRobot, Auto Empty Station by Ecovacs or bagless cleaning robots Self Emptying Base by Shark. These are a convenient alternative, but they can also be noisy and messy. They usually require special disposal bags.

This Shark model comes with an HEPA filtered bagless automated cleaners base. It has a huge capacity. It can hold debris for up to 60 days and does not have to be cleaned daily like some other models. Shark's incredible suction can handle even the toughest mess. The docking station's vacuum that is used to empty the trash bin is quite noisy.

When the robot is connected to an outlet on the wall and charged it, a sound will be heard and a green light will pulse across its top to show it's ready to start cleaning. If the battery of the robot is low, it will dock itself to its base and cease to work until it's recharged. It's important that the dock or Self-Empty Base is placed in a place that isn't obstructed by furniture or other objects and is clear of any obstructions in front of it.

This model is a little more expensive than other models in the middle of the range we've tested. It's more sturdy and performs better on bare floors. It also has a longer battery life and fewer maintenance requirements. It also offers a more extensive range of capabilities for automation, like virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7, however is still our preferred choice because it feels more durable and more refined, is faster in charging and gets caught on rug tassels much less frequently and has a higher capacity battery.

Easy Setup

The Shark AI Ultra has a simple to use Schedule that requires just a few inputs. You can choose the date and time of sunrise and sunset. You can also set the duration of the ramp times (increasing brightness or decreasing brightness) and whether you want to switch on the lights at night.

It doesn't include the smart mapping feature or voice control like Alexa or Google Assistant, but it does feature a very useful free programming suite.
